Every page here, the studio included, should work with a keyboard, a screen reader, a phone held in one hand and text set twice as large. This page says how we check that, where it still falls short, and how to tell us.

In your browser: every disc and every phase on the sheet is computed here. On our server, only at checkout: the town's coordinates and zone, the year, the name on the sheet and your colours, to draw the print.
What standard do you aim for?
WCAG 2.2, level AA.
Before each release every page is checked automatically for text contrast, a name on every control, landmarks and heading order, and again at three phone and tablet widths for touch targets and sideways scrolling. Automated checks don't catch everything a person meets, which is why the last section of this page exists.
Can I make a print without seeing it?
Yes. The sheet is described in words.
The proof carries a description that changes with your choices: the town and the year, how many nights and full moons the year holds, the hour every disc is drawn for, the ink, the ground and the shape. Each room under the studio repeats it with the size of the print on that wall. The method below the studio says in words how every disc is computed and turned.
Can I order a print with a keyboard or a screen reader?
Yes, from the first choice to the payment page.
The town is a text field with the list of towns as suggestions, and Use My Location is a button. Every other choice is a labelled button, swatch or field you can reach with the Tab key, and each colour swatch has its name. What the studio is doing, and anything that goes wrong with what to do next, is announced as it happens. Payment happens on Stripe's own checkout page, which Stripe builds and maintains.
Does anything move?
Only the sheet, once, as it fills.
When you change the town or the year, the discs fill in night by night, in reading order, over a little more than a second. With reduced motion switched on in your device's settings, the whole sheet is drawn at once and nothing else animates.
Where does it still fall short?
- The phase times are drawn on the sheet, and its description counts them, but the times themselves are not yet listed as text on the page.
- A file you download is an image, so a screen reader can't read the times and the words printed on it.
- Some discs are only a sliver wide on a phone screen; the sheet is meant to be read at print size, and every size names its inches.
How do I tell you something doesn't work?
Write to support@painted.app.
Say which page and what happened, and what you were using if you know it: the browser, a screen reader, a magnifier. If any part of ordering gets in your way, write to us and we'll set up the order with you by email. Post reaches us at PaintedApp, LLC, 1327 SE Tacoma St #394, Portland, OR 97202, United States.
